Spend an entire day preparing for the Syracuse half IM Triathlon with Endurance Factor Coaching. This training camp will be a challenging training event intended to simulate the stresses of race day. It will test your preparation in every way.

With roughly 5 to 6 hours of on-course training, you’ll get a taste of what to expect on race day. And during the two, 90-minute breaks between training sessions, you’ll have a chance to rest, refuel and learn specific race strategies from certified USA Triathlon coaches. Most importantly, you’ll also likely discover some things that need adjusting prior to race day, such as pacing, equipment, and nutrition.

Training Camp Fee: $129.

Includes:

  • A full day of coached training
  • Guarded swim
  • Fully marked bike course
  • Pre-ride breakfast
  • SAG support
  • End-of-day social hour Q & A and late lunch
  • On course water and nutrition will be available, but you are encouraged to bring your own nutrition (drink, bars, gels) that you plan on using on race day. 

The day will be fully supported with tech support during the bike and a lifeguards on the swim.

This camp is geared toward the triathlete competitive within his/her category with an expected finish time of under 6.5 hours.

Camp Coaching Staff

Doug Bush has a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Nutrition from the University of Buffalo. He has been coaching endurance sports athletes for 15 years and personally has been involved in endurance sports for 25 years as a cyclist, runner, and triathlete. He has completed nine Ironman triathlons, including the World Championships in Kona, numerous marathons, and countless mountain bike, road bike, and other running races.

Doug is founder and Head Coach of endurancefactor.com, an professional coaching organization that specializes in helping endurance athletes of all levels reach their goals through the development of customized coaching programs. He is a Level 2 certified USA Triathlon and Level 1 (elite)  certified USA Cycling Coach.

Trish Dugan has a Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Rochester and a Masters degree in Russian Studies from Georgetown University. She worked as an intelligence analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency for five years prior to focusing her energies on raising her four children. Active in endurance sports for over 20 years, Trish has completed two Ironman triathlons, numerous marathons, half Ironman, olympic and sprint distance triathlons. She is a USA Triathlon Level I certified coach. Trish is also co-owner at Syracuse Bicycle.

Helene Roth Schmid is co-founder of Véloved Multisport, and you won’t find anyone more dedicated to helping you achieve your personal best. Helene is a USA Cycling Level 3 Coach, USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach, as well as a Certified Personal Trainer and Strength Coach. Helene bases her coaching philosophy on a simple premise: She coaches the way she would want to be coached.

To Helene, coaching is a balance between art and science, gained through continuing education and experience. And she certainly has a good amount of that! Helene has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master’s degree in physical education. Plus, she’s coached high school track and swimming. Before moving to Syracuse, Helene spent 11 years coaching cyclists, runners and triathletes for CityCoach in New York City.

Not only is Helene a successful and much sought after coach, but she is also a celebrated athlete herself! She was a competitive triathlete (and fully sponsored) from 1999 to 2009, often winning her age group, if not placing overall, throughout the Northeast. Helene also raced Nationals at both the Olympic and Half Iron Distances.

Kristen Roe is a Level I USAT Certified coach and onwer/head coach of T2 Multisport. With a BS in Athletic Training and Masters in Teaching she spent 10 years as a Certified Athletic Trainer and adjunct lecturer at the collegiate level before getting into personal training and triathlon. She has 18 years of experience racing, training, coaching and living the life of triathlon. Coaching for 6 years she has brought numerous athletes over the finish line, achieving their goals of finishing their first sprint to Ironman distance triathlon. She is the mother of 2 children and understands what it takes to juggle family and training keeping everyone happy and healthy!
